Agent Sign-Off
Having each agent agree to the compensation breakdown before a deal reaches the office: the switch, the record that is kept, what happens when an agent questions the numbers or the amount changes later, and asking for a sign-off on a deal the office entered.
Updated October 3, 2026
Where to Find It: click the gear icon in the top bar (
Settings and Features), then
Transactions in the settings menu on the left, under
Daily Operations. On the
Sales Transactions tab, the card headed
Agent Sign-Off. The one switch covers sales and leases. See
Transaction Settings.
Who can change it: any administrator. It is brokerage wide and it is off until you turn it on. Deals that were already submitted when you turn it on are left alone.
The Problem It Solves
Arguments about a split usually start weeks after closing, when nobody can show what the agent saw. With sign-off on, the agent sees the full compensation breakdown and types their name to agree before the deal reaches you. BrokerChamp keeps a copy of exactly what they agreed to, with their typed name, the date and the time.
Turning It On
Step 1: Click the gear icon in the top bar (Settings and Features), then Transactions in the settings menu on the left.
Step 2: On the Sales Transactions tab, find the card headed Agent Sign-Off.
Step 3: Tick Agents sign off on their numbers before a deal is submitted. It saves by itself.
What Changes for a New Deal
- The agent fills in the deal as usual. When they submit, they land on a page headed Review your numbers instead of the old confirmation page.
- The deal stays Incomplete and out of your pending list, and the "New Transaction Created" email is not sent yet.
- When the agent signs, the deal moves to Pending / New and the email goes out, with a line saying when they signed.
- The business days before closing are counted from the day the agent submitted, not the day they signed, so a question never turns a deal into a late submission.
What the Office Sees
- On the deal page, under the status: Waiting on the agent to sign off, Agent has a question about the numbers, Sign-off out of date, or Agent signed off on with the amount and the date.
- In Transaction Manager: a Needs sign-off badge or a Questioned badge next to the deal type, on open deals only.
- In the bell at the top: An agent has a question about the numbers, for administrators who can work transactions. It stays until the question is dealt with.
- In the deal's notes: a dated line for every signature, question, request and send.
When an Agent Questions the Numbers
Instead of signing, the agent can click Something doesn't look right? and send you a note. The office is emailed the note with the breakdown, at the addresses that already receive the "transaction created" email. Fix the numbers on the deal page and save, or just answer the question, then click Reply and send back under the status. You can add a note for the agent. They are emailed and asked to sign.
When the Amount Changes After They Signed
- Only the agent's own amount counts. A change that leaves what the agent is paid alone does not disturb the sign-off.
- If their amount does change because the deal was edited or recalculated, the sign-off is marked out of date. The agent is emailed what they signed for and what it is now, and asked to sign again.
- A lease late fee added automatically does the same, except the agent is told in their alerts rather than by email.
- Put the amount back to what they signed and the sign-off is good again, with nothing more to do.
Sending a CDA or Invoice Without a Sign-Off
You are never blocked. When you click to email a CDA or an invoice and the agent has not signed off on the current amounts, the confirmation names the agent and says so. Click Send the CDA anyway (or Send the Invoice anyway) to go ahead. That choice is written to the deal's notes with your name. On a co-represented deal the warning covers both agents.
Deals the Office Enters
A deal you enter for an agent does not ask for a sign-off by itself. When you want one, save the numbers, then click Send to agent for sign-off under the status on the deal page. The same link reads Resend request while you are waiting, and Send a reminder when a sign-off is out of date.
Note: On a team deal, only the agent being paid can sign. If a team leader submits the deal, the agent is emailed and asked to sign. An administrator logged in as an agent cannot sign for them.
Tip: Tell your agents before you turn it on. The first time they submit a deal they will see one more page, and it takes a few seconds: read the numbers, type a name, click
I agree, sign off. The agent's side is on
Signing Off on Your Numbers.
