Late Submissions
Telling an agent, before they submit, that a sale entered too close to closing will be paid by the office after funding instead of by the title company at the table: the lead time, the automatic switch to brokerage collects, and the wording.
Updated September 23, 2026
Where to Find It: click the gear icon in the top bar (Settings and Features), then Transactions in the settings menu on the left, under Daily Operations. On the Sales Transactions tab, the card headed Late Submissions.
Who can change it: any administrator. It is brokerage wide and applies to sales only. A lease is always invoiced to the landlord and paid through the brokerage, so nothing here touches leases.
The Problem It Solves
An agent enters a sale a day or two before it closes and expects the title company to hand them a check at the table. The office cannot get the CDA to title that fast. Title pays the brokerage in full and the office cuts the agent's check after the funds land. Until now nothing in BrokerChamp told the agent that, and the confirmation page promised the CDA would go to title within two business days. This card tells the agent before they submit, so the "where is my check" call never happens.
The Three Settings
- Business days the office needs to get a CDA to title: 3 unless you change it. Monday to Friday, not counting the day the agent submits. Set it to 0 to turn the whole thing off.
- Switch a late sale to "brokerage collects all funds" when it is submitted: on unless you turn it off. The payout method is set for that one deal, exactly as if you had clicked the Switch button on the CDA screen. With it off, the agent is still told, but the payout method is left as the plan has it.
- What the agent is told: leave it blank for the standard wording, which carries the number of days above. Or write your own, plain text, up to 500 characters. Click Save.
What the Agent Sees
- On the sales form, under Closing Date, the moment they pick a date inside the lead time: how many business days away closing is, then your message, and a box they have to tick: "I understand my check will come from the office, not at the closing table." The form will not submit until it is ticked.
- On the confirmation page after they submit: "Your check will come from the office on this one", in place of the usual line about the CDA going to title within two business days.
- On their transaction page: a chip reading Paid by the office after funding, with your message under it. A deal on the normal path shows Title company pays you at closing instead.
What the Office Sees
- Transaction Manager: a red Late badge next to the deal type. Hover it for how many business days before closing the deal was entered.
- The CDA screen: the payout method line reads set on this deal, late submission.
- Edit Transaction: the Payout method line says the same, with the count.
- The deal's notes carry a line saying the payout method was set to brokerage collects and why.
Note: The count is taken once, when the agent first submits the sale. Moving the closing date later does not clear it, and moving it earlier on a deal that was submitted in good time does not add it. Deals submitted before this existed, deals the office created, and leases are never marked.
Tip: If the CDA does make it to title in time, open the CDA screen and click Switch this deal: title company pays the agent directly. The chip on the agent's transaction page changes with it.
Note: Business days are Monday to Friday. Holidays are not taken into account, so a sale entered on the Wednesday before Thanksgiving counts Thursday and Friday as working days. If that matters to your office, set the lead time a day higher.
