Understanding Onboarding

Overview of the agent onboarding process and workflow.

Overview

The onboarding process guides new agents through the steps required to join your brokerage. This includes completing required documents, providing account information, and setting up their BrokerChamp access.

Onboarding Workflow

The onboarding process typically follows these steps:

  • Administrator Initializes: Admin creates the onboarding record and sends the agent an email link
  • Agent Receives Link: Agent gets an email with a unique onboarding link
  • Required Documents: Agent reviews and signs required onboarding documents (if enabled)
  • Account Information: Agent provides personal information, license details, tax information, and account setup details
  • Profile Creation: System creates the agent profile in BrokerChamp
  • Completion: Agent receives access to their BrokerChamp account

Onboarding Statuses

  • Initialized: Onboarding record created but link not yet sent
  • Link Sent: Email with onboarding link has been sent to the agent
  • In Progress: Agent has started the onboarding process
  • Completed: Agent has finished all onboarding steps
  • Canceled: Onboarding was canceled and will not be completed

Required Information

During onboarding, agents provide:

  • Personal Information: Name, address, phone numbers, email
  • License Information: License number, expiration date, license status
  • Tax Information: Social Security Number or Tax ID, DBA if applicable
  • Account Setup: Username preferences, company email address
  • Sponsorship Details: Sponsoring broker, commission plan assignment
  • Board Memberships: MLS boards and associations

Onboarding Documents

If document signing is enabled, agents must:

  • Review each required document
  • Fill in any required fields
  • Sign documents electronically
  • Initial where required
  • Complete all documents before proceeding

Completion and Access

Once onboarding is complete:

  • The agent profile is created in BrokerChamp
  • Agent receives login credentials
  • Agent can access their dashboard
  • Agent can start creating transactions (if commission plan is assigned)
  • All onboarding documents are saved and accessible to administrators
